Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Federal Republic of Nigeria
H.E Legesse Geremew Haile was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 15 May ,2024.
Prior to being appointed as career ambassador, he served in different capacities both at the Headquarters -in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the various Ethiopian Diplomatic Missions overseas. Just to mention a few: Chief of Cabinet with the rank of Director General at the Office of the State Minister, rose through ranks from serving as Charge d’affairs & Deputy Head of Mission to Ambassador /Deputy Head of Mission at the Ethiopian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada,, Director General of Human Resource Management , Chief of Protocol, Deputy Chief of Cabinet at the Office of the State Minister and Deputy Consul General at the Consulate General of Ethiopia based in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China. He has also served in the previous years in different capacities ranging from Director, Acting Director, Acting Division Head, Section Head, Councilor I, First Secretary, Senior Second Secretary to a Third Secretary.
He holds MA Degree in International Trade and Economic Cooperation and BA Degree in Management and Public Administration.
He is Fluent in Afan Oromo, Amharic and English Languages.
He is married to Mrs. Million Shuramu and the couple have together three children.
